  1. I've been asked several times about the likelihood of GSAP being built on top of WAAPI someday. I figured it'd be best to just publish a blog post about it. Here ya go: https://greensock.com/waapi Feel free to discuss here (in this forums thread).
  2. As the author of GSAP I'm sometimes asked if the Web Animations API (WAAPI) will be used under the hood eventually. My responses have gotten pretty long so I thought I'd share my findings with everyone here. Hopefully this sheds light on the challenges we face and perhaps it can lead to some changes to WAAPI in the future. WAAPI is a native browser technology that's similar to CSS animations, but for JavaScript. It's much more flexible than CSS animations and it taps into the same mechanisms under the hood so that the browser can maximize performance. Overall support is has gotten pretty
