Hi, I try to stop the scroll during a tween. It's not work like I expect. A text is hidden under a block (height:400px), when the scroll is at 400, this text is fading in 1s. I need a 1s disable scroll. Then scroll is working. I try this : https://stackoverflow.com/questions/4770025/how-to-disable-scrolling-temporarily but it's look like the browser relaunch the velocity after enable the scroll.

Hi Guys, I want to add a scroll magic effect on the website I'm currently working on. First I wanted to get it working in a codepen test. I followed some tutorials and tried to figure out some codepens. What I want to achieve is to let the square move when the element with id: move is triggered. At the moment the tweening starts immediately when the page is loaded. I'm struggling with getting the code work and I don't see what I'm missing. I hope someone can help me. Thanks in advance! Ilse

Good day lads. I have a pressing question and I am hoping this is the right place to ask. Can anyone direct me on the general approach towards achieving scrolling like these on the following sites - http://fantasy.co/ and https://www.ramotion.com/. Generally what I want to know is how to listen for the onScroll event and scroll to an anchor or an element on the page such as can be seen from those sites. I've tried searching online but all the tutorials seem to be doing this on click of an anchor link whereas I want to achieve this on scroll. Anyone able to help?

Hello, fellow GSAPpers! This is my first stab at GSAP (love it!) and I'm super-eager to get your input on whether I grasped some of the basics or just totally messed it up. What I wished to create was some scrolling magic where the user controls the position of a video using the scroll wheel . Very similar to what goes on at the top of apple.com/homepod (which also seem to use GSAPs Tween & Timeline. Please have a look and give any hints on how to make this even smoother and more compatible on all sorts of devices (iPhone seems to work pretty good though). One thing that bugs me is that this is 40 lines of code. Apple's example runs one for at least 400. What am I doing wrong? TOM

Hi forum! How are you today? I'm working on an animation that I want to trigger and sync to the scrollbar, but start in the middle of the page, and return the scrolling the page when finished. This is what I thought about doing: [content] [ANIMATION PLACEHOLDER which is height: 100vh;] [empty section] [ANIMATION which is floating and set to display: none; and height: 100vh;] I put a scroll scene trigger at the start of the ANIMATION PLACEHOLDER section. the animation duration is set by javascript. the duration will change the ANIMATION PLACEHOLDER height to get the correct duration injected into that scroll section: pre-animation: set height of ANIMATION PLACEHOLDER to animation duration (should be 2 screens or 200vh) animation: make ANIMATION appear (I don't want the animation to scroll off screen) make ANIMATION PLACEHOLDER stick to top of it's section (when animation is set to reverse, this will make the placeholder appear in the correct place) move two boxes in the ANIMATION synced to the scroll (for now) make ANIMATION PLACEHOLDER stick to bottom (so it will appear as if you just continued to scroll) make ANIMATION disappear This seems to work for the end of the animation, but the animation (at least the set) starts as soon as the page loads. maybe it has something to do with immediateRender? I want the floating ANIMATION to appear only when the scroll trigger reaches the top of the screen. The animation itself does trigger at the right moment (only when the trigger reaches the top), but the set part happens immediatley thanks for the help Neil

Hey there, I came across this site from awwwards, quite like the animation. wondering if this can be done in gsap library. http://www.lespetitesculottees.com/#!en/product/la-blue-monday The way i was thinking to achieve this is to animate each of the element based on scroll position, but this will result a blank space at the bottom of the page, as the whole element shift up to its y position. Most element in example site will remain it position. Any help to point me to the right direction would be appreciated. TweenMax.to ("#text1", 1.2, {ease: Power1.easeInOut, y: -parseInt($(window).scrollTop()/1.4)} ); TweenMax.to ("#text2", 1.4, {ease: Power1.easeInOut, y: -parseInt($(window).scrollTop()/1.4)} ); .... .... Many thanks

Hi all, In the codepen example that is provided, the knob and the scroll-bar are linked, which is what I want to accomplish for my project. The content area is also draggable by mouse, which I want to strip out of the code, but I can't seem to make it work.. In summary: i want the knob to link to the scrollbar of my page.. that's it. (So if the knob is fully rotated, the scrollbar is at the bottom of the page etc.). I would appreciate any help. Thanks in advance!

I'm trying to test out a scroll hijacking method I saw on http://www.adidas.com/us/climazone. On that page, they have a fixed position container with everything in it absolutely positioned and on page scroll they translate3d the elements up -Y scroll position which I can do but they key ingredient they add is easing to that scroll tracking. So as you scroll the elements follow "recreating the scroll effect" but upon release slowly ease into their final place which is the end Y scroll position. I've found this StackOverflow question, https://stackoverflow.com/questions/25056769/how-to-add-easing-to-parallax-movement, where it talks about javascript easing mixed with parallax, however, I can't seem to figure out how to apply it to what I'm doing or what I want my end result to be. I also found this JSFiddle where it adds easing based on mouse movement that I thought might be helpful to use pieces from for easing, http://jsfiddle.net/74mnpgs7/4/. I've added a link to my current CodePen example with my starting point, any help achieving/deconstructing what Adidas Climazone is doing to add easing to their scrollY transforms would be eternally grateful! Another demo I did on JSFiddle is here: https://jsfiddle.net/416ne38h/5/ Bonus if I can use GSAP for this!

Hello! I have some issue with show elements. I fill svg line with help property stroke: function pathPrepare ($el) { var lineLength = $el[0].getTotalLength(); $el.css("stroke-dasharray", lineLength); $el.css("stroke-dashoffset", lineLength); } But I don`t know how can show element when fill before it (elements are hidden). They are conected only alike scene and they have absolut position. Maybe GSAP or Scrollmagic have some functions for decide this problem? Or maybe give me some hints. My code: // Init ScrollMagic var ctrl = new ScrollMagic.Controller({ globalSceneOptions: { triggerHook: 0, tweenChanges: true, duration: ScreenHeight } }); // Create scene $("section").each(function(){ new ScrollMagic.Scene({ triggerElement: this }) .setPin(this) .addTo(ctrl); }); var processLine = '#process-line'; // prepare SVG pathPrepare($(processLine)); var s4Tween = new TimelineMax(); s4Tween.to($(processLine), 1, {strokeDashoffset: 0, ease:Linear.easeNone}) .add(TweenMax.to(processLine, 0, {stroke: "#3495d1", ease:Linear.easeNone}), 0); // Create scene var scene4 = new ScrollMagic.Scene({ triggerElement: "#section3" }) .setTween(s4Tween) .addIndicators({name: "1 (duration: svg)"}) .addTo(ctrl);

How would I do this?? <div class="banner"> <div id="copyScroll"> <p> Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text? </p> <p> Lorem Ipsum is? </p> <p> Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of ? </p> <p> Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy ? </p> <p> Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing? </p> </div> </div> <script> var tl = new TimelineLite(); function anim() { copyScroll = document.querySelector('.copyScroll'); p = document.querySelector('p'); tl .to(copyScroll, 1.5, {y: '-400px'}); } </script>

Hi, The library is great. Loves to use it to create animations. I was using it will scrollMagic library. I wanted to know if there is any way I can detect if the animated element is scrolled out of the browser viewport when the user scrolls the page up so that the animation can be reset. Right now when it is scrolled down the animation is playing in the reverse direction. I just want the animated element stays in its final state as long as it is in the screen and when the user scrolls up and the element goes out of the viewport I want to reset it so it can play again when it is scrolled down. just like the title animation in http://carv.ai

Hello, After looking online and on this forum, I create this new post to see if anyone had the same issue with GSAP Draggable. As you can see on the screenshot below, I use a Draggable instance with type: x to create a main horizontal scrollview. Inside this scrollview, there are several boxes which all have a vertical native scrollview, using css properties : overflow-y: scroll; -webkit-overflow-scrolling: touch; It seems there is a conflict between horizontal Draggable events and native browser scroll when this scroll applies inside Draggable element. It is not possible to drag the mainview if the touch event is fired inside the native scrollview; only native vertical scroll is working. (if you drag on the header, which have no scroll, Draggable horizontal scroll works, but if you try to drag horizontally on the grey block, no horizontal scroll occured) - The issue occured on touch devices : Chrome Android, Firefox. The issue can be reproduced on latest Chrome Desktop with Touch simulated - It works on Safari iOS devices (iOS9, 10+) You can reproduce the issue on the codepen below; You will need to simulate touch events to reproduce. I tried to enable/disable "allowNativeTouchScrolling" but the issue is the same. Do you have any idea how to fix that ? The only solution should be to apply a Draggable instance to replace each native scrollviews, but may have performance issues on low Android devices. Thanks for your help.

Hello , I managed to find solution to drag content of TextBox up and down but its not stable . once you hold down the scroll-bar and start dragging its working but if u leave the scroll and try to do it again its not working Can i use GreenScok draggable to do that professionally ? I really feel sad i bought green-sock membership thinking that draggable will work fine but its been few days no success this is the example code i hope someone with experiance can guide me how to drag content inside Movie Clip at the stage using same concept " am using Adobe animate cc Canvas Project is attached . --- tl = this; createjs.Touch.enable(tl); linesOfTextF(200); function linesOfTextF(n){ for(var i=0;i<n;i++){ tl.TextBox.text += 'this is line '+i+'\n'; } } paramF(0, 48, 146-20 , 48+146-tl.TextBox.getBounds().height); function paramF(x1,y1,x2,y2){ tl.m = (y1-y2)/(x1-x2); tl.b = y1-tl.m*x1; } //this tl.sb.thumb.addEventListener('mousedown',startdragF); function startdragF(e){ stage.addEventListener('stagemousemove',dragF); stage.addEventListener('stagemouseup',stopdragF); } function stopdragF(e){ stage.removeEventListener('stagemousemove',dragF); } function dragF(e){ if(e.stageY>=48 && e.stageY<=48+146-20){ tl.sb.thumb.y=Math.floor(e.stageY-tl.sb.y); tl.TextBox.y = Math.floor(tl.m*tl.sb.thumb.y+tl.; } } --- Thanks test2.zip

Hello all, I have a slight problem and any help would be greatly appreciated, I am an animator new to the world of code and greensock. I'm looking to build something similar to the visions section on this waaark site: http://waaark.com/vision/ As you can see from the code pen I have built the outer circle forming and have built a timeline with a slider to controll the progess of the outer circle. I have managed to link each point so that when it is clicked the timeline go to the corrrect progress. http://codepen.io/Ryan84/pen/rWLNLN ideally I would Like this to tween to the correct progress and not jump as it is currently downing. I've tried a tweenTo() put cant seem to get this to function. The box2Timeline also should not animate the full way through as it currently does but function like waaark once this is fixed I'm going to also add a scroll function and then a inner icon to animate on when the corresponding point is clicked. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Kind regards, Ryan

Hello, I'm using GSAP to build scroll controlled animation using a timeline. 1) I have a container with a list of images, one next to the other, and when I scroll normally (so, vertically), I make the images slide to the left. 2) Sometimes I need to stop the sliding and animate something else (make something to appear and so on), before proceeding again with the sliding. This needs to happen at a specific moment, or position: usually I want one of these images to stop precisely in the middle. 3) the whole thing needs to be responsive I managed to do almost everything, but the point 3. In order to make it responsive, I set a fixed maximum size to the container div and on window loading I check if the window is smaller than this size, in which case I scale everything. So, the scaling works pretty well, but it messes with the calculations I made for the animation. In the pen I created I'm trying to stop the animation exactly when the left border of the third rectangle reaches the black line. At row 32 I'm calling the resize function to set the initial size. If you comment this call out you can see that it works fine, if you leave it, the rectangle will be always slightly off. Why is this the case?

Hello all, I just had a problem with iOS 10 Safari and the ScrollToPlugin, there are some changed that now will trigger the autoKill function. It has taken me more than a hour to realize that it was the autoKill function who stopped the animation. (iOS9 Safari didnt had this problem) Just for people with the same problem (I think almost everybody who is using ScrollToPlugin) for now just add "autoKill:false": TweenLite.to(window, 1, {scrollTo: {y:2000, autoKill:false}, ease:Power2.easeInOut}); Sorry for no Codepen but you can easily try it out with the Safari Developers Debug, just open a page that is using GSAP on your iPhone en run code without autoKill:false. (Sometimes it will not autoKill it, but almost always). Hope that I have made someone happy with the same problem Greets! Vincent

Greetings everyone. I'm attempting to highlight items in a list while the list it is being scrolled by the browsers scrollbar using ScrollMagic and GSAP. I sort of got them working individually but am unable to combine the two animations. I've setup a code pen in hopes that someone might give me a little direction. Thanks. Note: Ended up using gradient overlay for similar effect. Sorry for including ScrollMagic in my post. Any future posts will be in regards to GSAP specifically.

Hello ! Sooo, I'm trying to play a little with ScrollTo plugin and ScrollMagic.js my goal is to achieve smooth scroll to the bottom of the footer (that works) http://codepen.io/Dikus/pen/jAjoqN and then (after the user scrolls once up on the footer element) go back to the view where top of the footer is right at the bottom of the viewport. Problems I encountered: Scrolling works only once and only in one direction - usually ScrollMagic reverses all animations etc.so after scrolling back up from the bottom of the footer It would be lovely to achieve smooth scrolling in both sides and always when user is navigating through the website - not only once I bet it's possible, and that I do something terribly stupid Can you guys please help and give me some hits how to work this out? Maybe it's not possible to do this with ScrollTo and ScrollMagic but they are not a must. Any help will be more than welcome !

Hi, I created little AS3 aplication for simulate LED display. User can modyfy xml file to set some parameters like: font size and style, textfield position and size. I do animation by this code: var bannerW1: Number = txt_1.width var bannerH1: Number = txt_1.height; var banner1: BlitMask = new BlitMask(txt_1, txt_1.x, txt_1.y, bannerW1, bannerH1, true, true, 0x00DDDD00, true); banner1.bitmapMode = true; var tween1: TweenMax = new TweenMax(txt_1, 9, { x: -txt_1.width, repeat: -1, ease: Linear.easeNone }); var bannerW2: Number = txt_2.width var bannerH2: Number = txt_2.height; var banner2: BlitMask = new BlitMask(txt_2, txt_2.x, txt_2.y, bannerW2, bannerH2, true, true, 0x00DDDD00, true); banner2.bitmapMode = true; var tween2: TweenMax = new TweenMax(txt_2, 9, { x: -txt_2.width, repeat: -1, ease: Linear.easeNone }); I noticed that scroll speed depense on text field width (longer field = fastes scrool). Is there any way to set scroll speed constant independently of text field width? Best! Pandik.

Hello, I know a similar question has been asked before, but I think my case is a bit different and I couldn't find a solution. In the pen I posted I have a very long image which I want to scroll from the beginning to its end, which mean that it should stop when its right edge reaches the right side of the window. In order to do this I calculate the distance, so the amount of x translation, as the difference between the image width and the window width. I know about the xPercent property, but I guess that it's not useful in this case, because I have no way of using it account also for the window width. Anyway, the animation works fine. But if after the first animation you resize the browser window and click repeat (top right corner), the image doesn't stop at the right point: it goes too far left, or too far right, depending how you resized the window. So, I'm thinking that the solution would be to update the values inside the tweens on the window resize event. I'm not sure how to to this, or if that's even possible. Is there a better, more appropriate, approach?
