I'm a knucklehead on this topic. AS3 was obvious, you build it in Flash.
I don't know what software to use greensock js with to build banners. What are most people using? I'm a visual person, so I'm drawn to the idea of using Edge, but I'm not sure if that's the best choice. The new Google Web Designer looks interesting. I've found there are many options out there, so any suggestions would be awesome.

Thanks.

Hi,

Well I don't use any tool so I couldn't recommend one. But from what I learn while working with Flash, is that you can get great results in different environments, whether is pure code or using an GUI. I believe you can achieve great results using both alternatives. Take the GreenSock codepen collection, as far as I know those are made only using code. On the other hand Chris Gannon has made some amazing stuff using Edge and if you're thinking about using edge Chris' blog is a great resource for learning how to integrate GSAP with Edge:

I never heard of google's tool, it looks pretty good, although there's the issue about integrating GSAP and using it instead of CSS animations (which is the default) in order to get the performance GSAP can give. Also is the chance of accessing the methods and functions GSAP has.

I'm not shutting down google's tool but right now I believe the best choice would be Edge because it has more time around, so basically there's more support and resources out there. We'll have to wait and see what the future holds for Google's tool.

Also there are a couple of online tools to make banners, you might want to check them and see if they fit in your project needs:

http://html5maker.com/

http://tweenui.com/

Those are GUI that allow you to create content online. They're based entirely in GSAP and are very simple to use.

Finally you might want to check this post regarding HTML5 add banners. Carl gives some lights about the standards and other points about this particular issue.
