Warning: Please note

Hi Folks,

I cobbled my way into translating this character-swapping transition from a previous version that was AS3.  This works OK, but it's not quite as smooth as the Flash version was.  Also, I think better programmers could make it more efficient.  here's my codePen:

This seems like it is completely do-able with SplitText and TimelineLite or Max, but I struggled to come up with a solution with those tools.  I appreciate any tips or insight.

thanks,

Hi Kevin,

If you have a Club membership you can try the Scramble Text Plugin:

In addition you can give the Text Plugin (comes with the package you download and it's on the CDN repository) a try as well:

I've played and made some things with Scramble and Split Text, but never combined them, but for what I can see in your codepen Scramble Text could be what the doctor ordered ;)

Rodrigo.

Yeah... I just successfully used the Scramble Text Plugin in about 5 minutes to do what I spent all afternoon trying to re-code from AS3 to JS.

Love to get those hours back.  Thanks Rhernando.

Time for a Friday martini.
