JQuery Slideshow with GSAP JQuery plugin

Recommended Posts

I wonder, it's this possible. I've been reading about how good is this platform and I also read about how this plugin could improve performance even though it's a JQuery native code.

I'm sure it is possible, have you tried it yet? The plugin just turns the basic jQuery animate() into GSAP tweens, so it should just work.

Using bxSlider for example, if this is my markup inside the header tag:

<script type="text/javascript" src="js/jquery.min.js"></script>
<script src="js/jquery.bxslider.js" type="text/javascript"></script>

<script>
$(document).ready(function(){
  $('.bxslider').bxSlider();
});

var originalNavClasses;
</script>

should i changed by?:

<script src="js/TweenMax.min.js"></script>
<script src="js/jquery.gsap.min.js"></script>
<script src="js/jquery.bxslider.js" type="text/javascript"></script>

<script>
$(document).ready(function(){
  $('.bxslider').bxSlider();
});

var originalNavClasses;
</script>

You need to still include jQuery and whatever plugin you're using, so

<script src="js/jquery.min.js"></script>
<script src="js/TweenMax.min.js"></script>
<script src="js/jquery.gsap.min.js"></script>
<script src="js/jquery.bxslider.js"></script>
jquery.gsap is just another jQuery plugin.

Hi,

I don't know if you'd be interested but I created a very simple slider using GSAP. The code is obsessively commented so you wouldn't have much trouble knowing how and why things are done in it:

See the Pen CeDkc?editors=001 by rhernando (@rhernando) on CodePen

Is just a barebone example but a good starting point, the rest is getting creative with the animations, which with GSAP is not too hard ;)

Rodrigo.
