Keeping the interior of your car clean is just as important as washing it on the outside, even if no one else can see it. Additionally, common messes like crumbs, dust, dander, dirt, and pet litter can make even a new vehicle less cozy.

Unfortunately, you can rely on your regular model to do this. Instead, you need a smaller machine that can get into and maneuver between your car's interior easily. If you are also looking for a solution to this problem, here are the highest rated vacuums for cars you can buy right now.

5 Best-Rated Vacuum Cleaner For Cars

Black & Decker Dustbuster - Best Value Cordless Model

There is no need to introduce this iconic vacuum. As one of the most popular handheld models with one of the highest vacuum ratings, the Dustbuster has made a name for itself and become the gold standard when people want to compare handheld vacuums side by side.

One of the best things about this machine is that Black & Decker never stops bringing new improvements to this old classic. For example, the new lithium-ion battery brings more runtime than previous alkaline models, preventing it from dying prematurely after a couple of months.

Whichever the source of power is, the Dustbuster still delivers an impressive suction. If you notice that the suction is getting less powerful, just remove the filter and rinse it to get rid of all the dirt accumulated there.

This filter is also reusable, and since the new version of the Dustbuster comes with the Smart Charge Technology that uses less energy compared to similar models, this is among top 10 vacuum cleaners for environmentally conscious customers.

Hotor Car Vacuum Cleaner - Best Inexpensive Corded Choice

As one of the best vacuum cleaners in the world, the Black & Decker Dustbuster certainly has inspired other manufacturers to design and put out many similar products, like this car vacuum from Hotor. This company doesn't try to beat the Dustbuster at its own price point but chooses to deliver an affordable model instead.

With a weight of just 2.44 pounds, this machine is one of the lightest car vacuums out there. Maneuvering it inside a car and cleaning for a long period will become much easier to handle.

Keep in mind that many customers have said the Hotor handheld vacuum isn't good at picking up pet hair. So if you bring your pet into your car regularly for a ride, you should check out other models, just to be safe.

With that being said, this machine is still a great investment for any car owner given its price and even if it usually doesn’t make it into best vacuum cleaner. With just a few dozens of dollars, you can have an easy-to-use vacuum to clean your car instead of going to a car wash place.

Armor All AA255 - Best Wet/Dry Car Vacuum

Car messes don't consist of just crumbs, dirt, and dust. Sometimes they also come from spills and other accidents, and you may require a wet/dry vacuum instead of just a standard model.

The AA255 2.5-gallon from Armor All is a machine like that, and with a compact form, it will be an amazing choice to get rid of all the messes in your car. Even if you don’t own a car, it's also one of the best vacuum cleaners on the market to deal with spills.

This machine looks like a shop vac you may see in a construction site or a workshop. But since it is specifically designed for cars, the crevice tools and nozzle have a different shape so they can get into crannies and nooks in your vehicle. You can also convert it into a blower. This mode will come in handy when you want to blow off debris gathering on the outside of your car, such as dirt and leaves.

This Armor car vacuum is a corded machine, but thanks to the 10-foot cord and 6-foot hose, you still have a long cleaning reach. While the 2.5-gallon is not the biggest tank in the world of vacuum cleaners, it's fairly big for a car vacuum, enough to handle even huge messes.

Holife 3M036BW - Best Cordless Wet/Dry Car Vacuum

If you don't like the inconvenience of the corded Armor All model above, but still prefer a car vacuum with the ability to clean both dry and wet debris, have a look at the Holife 3M036BW. Compared to the Armor All AA255, it's smaller and runs entirely on batteries.

As a wet/dry vac, it can soak up spills as easily as dirt and other dry messes, thanks to the powerful suction from the 7 KPA motor. It's actually impressive that a handy tool like this can deliver such a strong performance. So not just your car, but you can also use it to pick up other minor household debris like a typical handheld vacuum cleaner. This is a great alternative to vacuuming when you just need to clean a small mess in your house.

After a full charge of around 3 hours, its 2200mAh rechargeable lithium-ion battery can provide up to 30 minutes of continuous cleaning, enough for a small and medium car no matter how dirty it is.

Bissell Cleanview Deluxe - Best Value Corded Option

If you love the Dustbuster but don't mind wires and cords, and want to clean your car without thinking about the runtime, the Bissell Cleanview Deluxe is an amazing alternative, coming from one of the best vacuum cleaner brands.

With an affordable price and a unique design, it stands out from other car vacuums. It functions as a handheld vacuum, like the Dustbuster, but also provides a hose attachment so you can clean tight areas in your car easier - the spots that even the portable Dustbuster can't reach. This is also enabled by the 18-foot power cord, making sure the Cleanview Deluxe can dive into any place in a car.

This handheld machine is a bit heavy, but a large part of it comes from the 0.78L dirt cup, which allows the Bissell Cleanview Deluxe to hold more debris and dirt than other competitors. You will fill this tank quickly with the powerful suction, and most importantly, never need to worry about it running out of power.

Final Words

Car vacuums are rather a niche market that manufacturers usually opt for a handheld design since they are small enough to get into your vehicle and clean its interior.

On the flip side, suction and runtime are usually the biggest issues customers have with those models. But the excellent models in this vacuum cleaner comparison have proven that we totally can achieve a good balance between convenience and suction strength, allowing us to freshen our cars regularly without using a bulky full-sized vacuum.

Good question, @wesmccane. If you answer "yes" to any of the following, you'd need the special commercial license that comes with "Business Green" Club GreenSock memberships:

  1. Does your GSAP-enhanced website/game/product require the user to pay a fee to use? (like Netflix.com)
  2. Are you selling a GSAP-enhanced product to multiple end users? (like a website template, theme or game)
  3. Are you using GSAP in a game/app with optional paid features/upgrades?

If your website sells products that aren't GSAP-enhanced like insurance, clothing, widgets, food, etc., that doesn't require the commercial license. It only matters if the thing for which a fee is collected uses GSAP in some way. The standard "no charge" license even covers usage in projects where only a one-time development fee is charged, like an agency that's paid to build a fancy web site that's free for everyone to use.

If you need one of the members-only plugins like MorphSVG, DrawSVG, ScrollSmoother, etc., that'd be another reason to sign up. But if you didn't answer "yes" to the questions above and you only need the core or the public plugins, then you'd be fine with the standard "no charge" license.

We like to think that a Club GreenSock membership pays for itself very quickly when you consider all the time it’ll save, the added capabilities that the bonus plugins deliver...and of course that sense of having animation superpowers is priceless 🙂

Club GreenSock memberships support all the ongoing development here as well, so it can be a smart way for you to help ensure that the tools continue to get nurtured in the years ahead just like they have been for the past 15+ years.

Let me know if we can help with anything else. I look forward to seeing you on the membership roster soon.
