Hey All

Im currently programming a little Angular application which uses a Canvas to display additional Information about Content on the Canvas when clicking on it. This works as intended but now i wanted to animate the current highlighted/selected Circle on that Canvas.

I have a Circle Class with the Path2D Object and a draw function

export class Circle {
    private object: Path2D;
    id: string;
    private radius: number;
    private x: number;
    private y: number;
    constructor(x, y, radius, id) {
        this.id = id;
        this.object = new Path2D();
        this.x = x;
        this.y = y;
        this.radius = radius;
        this.object.arc(x, y, this.radius, 0, 2 * Math.PI);
    }
    draw(ctx, color) {
        ctx.beginPath();
        ctx.fillStyle = color;
        ctx.fill(this.object);
    }
}

My Idea was to use Gsap.To  to animate the Radius Size of my objects, but for some reason i cant seem to understand how i could accomplish that.

Thanks for your help!

It's pretty tough to troubleshoot without a minimal demo - the issue could be caused by CSS, markup, a third party library, your browser, an external script that's totally unrelated to GSAP, etc. Would you please provide a very simple CodePen or CodeSandbox that demonstrates the issue?

Please don't include your whole project. Just some colored <div> elements and the GSAP code is best (avoid frameworks if possible). See if you can recreate the issue with as few dependancies as possible. If not, incrementally add code bit by bit until it breaks. Usually people solve their own issues during this process! If not, then at least we have a reduced test case which greatly increases your chances of getting a relevant answer.

Here's a starter CodePen that loads all the plugins. Just click "fork" at the bottom right and make your minimal demo

If you're using something like React/Next/Vue/Nuxt or some other framework, you may find StackBlitz easier to use. We have a series of collections with different templates for you to get started on these different frameworks: React/Next/Vue/Nuxt.

Once we see an isolated demo, we'll do our best to jump in and help with your GSAP-specific questions.

Hi @LK3 and welcome to the GreenSock forums!

This should get you closer to what you're looking for:

The only issue is that I can't figure why the repeat and yoyo is not clearing the canvas. The GSAP instance is running and the value is being updated, but for some reason the circle is not cleared. Unfortunately I don't have time to figure my own shortcomings when it comes to canvas so I'll leave that to you, but hopefully this is enough to get you started.

Happy Tweening!
