Hello, I want to achieve the text color reveal with scroll trigger only.

No I didn’t, the code pen is a demo from @PointC which is made with ScrollTrigger, SplitText and SmoothScroller. I want to do it with ScrollTrigger only.

Let me make sure I'm understanding: you are asking in the GreenSock forums for us to spend time crafting a solution for free that would allow you avoid paying for a Club GreenSock membership which is the very thing that makes everything we do possible, including these forums?

You are welcome to split all the text yourself (build it initially with various <div> elements rather than dynamically splitting it) and eliminate the smooth scrolling (or use another library like LocomotiveScroll, but that's more difficult to wire up with ScrollTrigger). 

 

Good luck with your project. In most cases, the Club GreenSock membership pays for itself in a matter of days or weeks when you consider all the time it saves, the increased capabilities, etc. Think about how many hours you'd have to burn writing custom code to avoid joining Club GreenSock...you'd likely save yourself and your client a lot of money by just joining the club and bill your client for it.  But seriously, don't feel any pressure to join. We never want someone in the club who isn't thrilled with the value they receive. We're passionate about having happy customers around here.
