Animate text from line to circle on scroll

Go to solution Solved by Cassie,

Hi everyone.

There's a way to implement an animation that, at the start position is a centered linear text. On scroll the text morph in a circle.

i thought the fairest way might be to use text / paths in svg, and then animate the shape of the path to the scroll.

these attach are the two states of animation. First is text linear.

do you think it's possible to do using gsap and its plugins?

Hi there Mantrone!

Welcome to the forums and thanks for joining club GSAP

How about something like this as a starting point?

You can control how the morph looks by tweaking the shapeIndex - read the docs for more info ☺️

Might be able to dissect this pen a bit to get what you're looking to achieve, functionality wise:

Obviously bit more going on than what you're looking to do, but it's still tweening a path with text along it still.

Hi,

Thank you very much to everyone for your suggestions. I'd say Cassie's example is the closest.

I will start develop from this.

Hi @Cassie!

What setting would you have to use to have the text on the line morph into the circle but kind of 90deg further along the circle so it sits on top of it.

Thanks so much☺️

It would probably be better if you create your own paths instead of using simple shapes as that will give you more control over the morphing behavior, but for demo purposes you could just rotate the element. I put it outside of the defs just so you can see it better.
