GSAP ScrollTrigger effect in HTML display ads

Is there a way (even allowed) to use scrolltrigger in display ads? I have been using it in websites I have built but I have been asked to integrate it into our display ads. It seem like it won't work because ad live in a iFrame and it won't get scrolling data from the browser.

I've never tried that, but I suspect you are correct. Security protocols wouldn't allow the iframe content to grab data about the parent page, although maybe there are some security settings you could put into the <iframe> to allow it. That'd require whoever is putting the display ads on their site to accommodate that, of course. 

 

If you can get the data, I suppose you could wire it up to ScrollTrigger.scrollerProxy(), sorta like smooth scrolling libraries do.
