Performance having multiple timelines

Recommended Posts

Hello, it is just a wondering question that always comes to my mind using Greensock.

Is there any maximum number of timelines that you can have? Does it impacts performance or it is a way of organizing code? It is good, bad or better to have a single timeline.

Thank you in advance and warm regards.

As far as I'm aware - It's just a way of organising your code, a timeline instance isn't itself going to impact performance.

It's more what you do with a timeline that will have an impact on performance.

I've had thousands of timelines running at the same time without issue (with WebGL). As @Cassie said, it's more about what you having the timeline do. If you're animating font sizes, width, and height is probably going to have a greater impact on performance than animating transforms and opacity.
