modifiers with vars

Hello guys,

What is the syntax here?

This seemed to have worked in the past (I found a link that suggested it can be used in this form);

No output in console.log.

Cheers

:) It is a pity that my questions always occur on weekends.

The question is basically how to access the css variable in modifiers so that we can put it in a wrap or something. Will be used in infinite loop scenarios.

Thanks for the demo. It clearly demonstrates the issue.  I don't have an answer for you other than "maybe css vars are handled differently"... which isn't helpful. 😁. I'm sure @GreenSock will be able to give you a straight answer.

Hopefully you can wait until tier 1 support resumes on Monday. Rest assured your issue will be addressed properly.

Hope so.

I am wondering why css vars are excluded from being passed to modifiers. What would be a work around if that is the case?

Sorry about the delay - was traveling.

Yes, this was a bug that should be resolved in the next release which you can preview at https://assets.codepen.io/16327/gsap-latest-beta.min.js (you may need to clear your cache).

As for a workaround, it should be very easy to use an onUpdate:

Does that clear things up?

Yes. That is perfect, I will use the workaround until the official release.

Thank you, Jack.
