Dovisally
Hello there, almost 2 years now have not find an answer for this question so frustrated already, i'm trying to achieve smooth page scrolling like this website for example http://www.thibaudallie.com/ after a long search i found this but as far as i see that the author closed it and does not recommend to use it my question is, it is any how reasonable and stable to use the code from the page above ? since i don't really have any other options, i do not want to use a jQuery plugin i'm tired of searching and not finding anything related to that scrolling smooth experience

It was only intended to be a demo. I was hoping people could learn from the code instead of doing a copy paste. I don't think the first pen in that thread is that hard to understand. It works fine for desktops, but mobile is a problem because of how the screen resizes with the address bar sliding up and down. I'm sure it can be reworked, but it is not something I plan on doing anytime soon. 35 minutes ago, Dovisally said: since i don't really have any other options, i do not want to use a jQuery plugin Here's a nice script. It does scroll jacking, but I think it does a pretty darn good job of making it feel natural. https://github.com/gblazex/smoothscroll-for-websites

ZachSaucier
You may be able to create what you need using the upcoming GSAP scroll plugin. It doesn't have smooth scrolling built in per se, but you can create the effect quite simply if your use case is simple.
