Gsap line with elements animated from it

Hi there, looking to create something if possible, very unsure where to start. I have seen this animation on a GSAP forum.

I have been using scroll magic to create a timeline for a history project. the user scrolls horizontally and I am using gsap to draw the line with time points. Right now when its scrolled to a date I am using this reveal animation for the images,

 

Instead I am thinking if it is possible for a line to be draw vertically from the date and then use this reveal animation to reveal the image from it.

 

Hopefully you understand what I mean, been very difficult to find something similar.

Maybe I'm not understanding the desired outcome, but it sounds similar to the question you asked here:

There are numerous threads around the forum with vertical line drawing. Some use ScrollMagic while others don't use any plugins. You can use the forum search feature to find several of them. Here are a few to get you started.
