Hello Greensock friends!

I'm starting to get stuck into using Greensock, but looking at the showcase some of them are just blowing me away.  Particularly:

https://go.pioneer.com/cornrevolution

I was wondering, at a top level, what the technology stack and workflow that has been used to produce this.   It looks like the corn is being rendered in 3D?  Is there a wrapper framework to have lit 3d scenes like this?  What about animating 3D objects, it looks like the plant is growing later down the page.

Any insights, case studies into some of these things would be good.    Some of it is just mind boggling!

There's a lot going on in a site like that :) Looks like it was designed (at least in part) by Kevin Sparrow and developed by the agency Resn. Yes, they have 3D corn. The core technology is WebGL, though I don't know if we can know the exact tools used to render such beautiful scenes without asking them. The only non-WebGL parts that they have are the logo, the menu, and the signup, contact, and legal sections. Hopefully they do a write up at some point.

If I had to guess, I'd guess they use something like Unity for the bulkier sections and have some way to export it properly to WebGL. Some of the effects (like the text effects, section transitions, and menu stuff could all be done by hand.

Here are some Chrome extensions that can help you figure out what tech a site is using.

The 3D stuff is using Three.js.

Have you ever done that, export Unity to WebGL?
