Hello everyone,

My name is Luciano Pes, I am a teacher of the Italian school that has long been building educational tools. I'm relatively new in this forum even though I've been working for 3 months on a graphic editor for animations based entirely on Green Sock. You can find the project here:
http://www.impari-scuola.com/staging/animazioni/
Do not be discouraged even if it is in Italian (very soon a multilingual version), however the icons are self-explanatory and you should be able to immediately build your animations both from PC and mobile.

I would like to get in touch with people who want to contribute with suggestions, advice  to widen the base of the elementary animations currently present. There is still much to do, especially with ready-made templates, along the lines of what happens for programs like   Scribe.
Free to contact me here or in my mail: impari.scuola@gmail.com
Thanks to everyone in advance
Luciano

Salve a tutti,

http://www.impari-scuola.com/staging/animazioni/

Grazie a tutti in anticipo
Luciano

HI and welcome to the GreenSock forums,

Thanks for posting about your project.

I hit a few snags initially:

1: I added a text box and then selected the text to edit it. I started typing and nothing happened. It took me a few seconds to learn that I had to type in the box on the right of the stage to change text and click the save button to apply. Live-editing like other programs would be more intuitive

2: I tried dragging some symbols of the people from the "library" on to the stage. This did not work as expected. I had to learn that a single click would place them on the stage.

3: i didn't understand how to create an animation, I selected elements on the stage and hit a bunch of buttons with arrows on them. I think my trouble is largely due to the fact that the language was italian and there were no instructions.

Its very difficult to create an animation program that is completely intuitive for a new user, especially since many users will come in with their own understanding and experience of how things "should" work. Personally, when I try new animation programs I expect them to work like Flash and get disappointed very quickly they don't. Of course that is all just personal bias.

I think a very short video tutorial or instructions would go a long way to helping new users get excited about this. Help avoid the initial obstacles as quickly and painlessly as possible. Also, adding some examples of what the program can create would be cool too!

Again, thanks for posting. I hope you continue to improve and refine this. Although my experience hit a few rough spots I'm certain it all has to do with the lack of directions and the language barrier.

Happy Tweening!
