Intermediate matrix

Hi,

 

Is it possible to get all the intermediate transform matrix of a tween given the start, end and time?

Without actually executing the animation.

You can start with a paused tween,  set the .progress() to any 0-1 value, grab the values, and then set the progress.() back to 0.

Makes sense, but how would I retrieve the matrix values once I set the progress?

Maybe I need to calculate the values of a,b,c,d out of "X,Y, skewY, skewX, rotationY, rotationX, scaleY, scaleX".

Can you help us understand your goal? Why are the matrix values useful to you? 

 

You can snag them from the string at element.style.transform. Typically it's easiest to use a RegExp to isolate the numbers. But again, I think it'd be super helpful if you gave us a little more insight about the "why" behind the request. 

 

Also keep in mind that 3D matrices have 16 values whereas 2D ones have 6.
