Using SplitText plugin in a public repo on GitHub

Ok, I admit it. I never bothered reading the license terms.  I figured I would ask first.

 

What are my options if I want to use SplitText plugin in an open source project on GitHub?

Sorry, but we do not permit the use of our premium tools (like SplitText, ThrowPropsPlugin, etc) in open source projects.

If I use a private GitHub repo and publish a website using GitHub pages (https://pages.github.com/), am I permitted to use the premium plugins?

Sure, if it's a private repo that's perfect. No problem. We'd appreciate it if you made sure to use the minified file in your published work, but that's not mandatory. 

 

Thanks again for taking the time to ask. Hopefully it's clear why we'd ask people not to drop premium (paid) plugins into open source projects, as it'd make it super easy for anyone to snag the tools without paying for them. Of course they could pretty much do that anyway with enough determination (find a site that uses the tools and grab the source), but if they're in an open source github repo or something, it makes it that much easier and more likely that people could misconstrue the license and assume that since the github repo might be under an MIT license, it's inclusive of ALL of the files (including GreenSock ones). Sorry if that makes things more awkward for you. I wish there was a way we could eliminate that hassle.
