  1. Hello happy coders! I found this particle code on another post and updated it make it work for my purpose... see codepen. Every time you mouse-over the black area, 300 particles (divs) are added and animated. While it looks pretty smooth in Safari & Firefox - it's not smooth at all in Chrome. And I know the processor load is pretty high in all browsers. How can I improve the code to make it run more smoothly with less processor load? Maybe using canvas might be a better way to go here - but I have no experience with canvas at all. Maybe there is something else to improve it?
  2. Hello! I'm trying to create a particle animation, something like this: http://i.imgur.com/OGpHy9m.gif The only thing difference is that i want each bubble to move a bit sideways as well. I found most of what i needed on the forum but now I'm stuck. As you can see in the codepen the bubbles move a bit but when the animation restarts it looks like a glitch, as i understand it, the bubbles start at their original x and y positions which is why that happen. I tried with yoyo set to true but that did nothing. I'm fairly new to Javascript so the code might not be best practice, feel free to correct me on this , always good to learn. Any help is much appreciated! Thank you
  3. Hi Everybody, I'm trying to find a particle emitter/generator in HTML5 that's relatively easy to use. I found Pixi and Pixi Particles but the Pixi library that requires loading is heavy for advertising. Is there something similar out there available that's relatively easy to use? I know Greensock doesn't really do particle engine builds or anything , but I thought this forum isn't a bad place to ask. Im not looking for anything too fancy just something with count, speed/gravity, life, and image/array loading. Does anybody use something that's easy to modify out there? Thanks for any feedback.
  4. I want to duplicate my snow animation and fit it between the two layers I have set up. This way I will have a foreground snow and a background snow. So I want to keep my current snow on top and make a duplicate layer of it between MC_BG and MC_FG. I tried wrapping the snow in a function and adding it as a child at level 1, but I probably did it wrong. Any Help will be appreciated. import com.greensock.*; import com.greensock.easing.*; addChildAt(MC_BG, 0) addChildAt(MC_FG, 2) var tl:TimelineMax=new TimelineMax({paused:false}); function createFlake(offset) { //create a flake (attach symbol in library with Class flake) and position on stage var flake:Flake = new Flake(); flake.y=-50; flake.x=randomRange(-10,1090); flake.alpha=0; addChild(flake); //create timeline for each flake var nestedTl:TimelineMax = new TimelineMax(); //how much wiggling / zig zagging var wiggle:Number=randomRange(15,35); //zig or zag? wiggle=Math.random() > .5?- wiggle:wiggle; //how fast and big var speed:Number=randomRange(5,15); //fade and grow nestedTl.insert(TweenMax.to(flake, .5, {alpha:randomRange(.5,1), scaleX:speed, scaleY:speed})); //go down nestedTl.insert(TweenMax.to(flake,speed, {y:800})); //zig zag nestedTl.insert(TweenMax.to(flake, speed*.15, {x:String(wiggle), repeat:Math.floor(randomRange(1,4)), yoyo:true, ease:Sine.easeInOut})); tl.insert(nestedTl, offset);
  5. I am looking to create a particle animation similar to the video below with GSJS. What is the best way to go about this. Where should I start. http://www.istockphoto.com/stock-video-18351884-colorful-numbers-background-loop-pastel-rainbow-hd.php?st=1f7e5fb Thanks for your help!
