  1. I'm trying to move paths created in a Illustrator to a given position. In the codePen, I move the group, then morph the balloon and move the stars. The 2 targets are positioned at 100,300 and 300,300 (in pixels) in Illustrator. I've tried a variety of techniques but none seem to work...

    Greetings everyone, I was able to morph from one path to another : this pen however what is the proper technique to use when there is not a 1:1 ratio, for example, in the attached pen (in the subject line) you can see I am morphing the man into the hulk, but the man is composed of many paths that I painted out in illustrator, as you can see its very slow, and they are all morphing into the same path.. As well you see that the svg is cropped by the viewbox, and I am having some trouble fixing it.. what is the method to work with morph when the ration is not 1:1, i guess if its only a few paths the user might not notice, however in this case you can see it just looks weird. what I am thinking of doing for this project is cutting down the amount of paths on the man, to say 10-15, and then have the paths on the man morph into different svg skin textures on the hulk, and then afterwards fade into something like a rastor image.. something similar to what guy so expertly did: this pen ** disclaimer: I will not be the designer on the project I will just be implementing the code, so what should I ask the designer to do?
  3. Hi, First post here so sorry if I'm asking something that has been answered, but I did a search and didn't find what I needed. Here's my project and what I'd like to do: Create a large infographic with lots of groups in Illustrator. Export the large infographic as ONE large SVG. Copy the inline SVG code and paste it into the body of an HTML page. Animate the individual elements of the ONE large SVG. I've attached a JPG of an example infographic. It contains ten sections. I'd like to be able to access individual SVG elements (e.g. <rect>, <g>, etc.) in each section and animate them using Greensock. Also, I attached a Codepen with a much simpler SVG with only two sections. I have tried to simply move the white rectangle in the top section but have been unable to. I set the id of the white rectangle to "logo." I'm just using the simple code from the first Jump Start tutorial. I'd like to be able to animate each of these elements on hover, clicking, etc. For example, in the codepen, I'd like to be able to rotate the wheel by clicking the "click me" button. Thanks.
  4. Hey guys, When i upload the code from illustrator the background color outlines my graphics. You can see it on the cats head and arm. It's also outlining where the mans head touches his shoulders. In illustrator the graphic are perfectly lined up. Any advice on how to avoid this?

  6. Hi there, I've spent an hour or two looking at the documentation and the forum and I'm excited by what I'm seeing. I'm a designer who would like to develop an efficient workflow for working with Wordpress and Illustrator. in time, I would like to use to use CC Animate. In my ideal world, my workflow would be something like: Develop my SVGs in Illustrator in separate artboards, using a combination of symbols and non symbols Export them using the new export screens feature Import the SVGs onto a server via FTP (not using Wordpress media import feature) Be able to manipulate SVGs using Jquery, GSAP, and CSS I'm pretty good about learning technical processes, but I'm more of a designer than a developer. The SVG gotchas post was helpful but I'm hoping for a less high maintenance revision process. I understand that this workflow is probably not realisitic at this point, but I'm hoping people can give me some ideas on resources I can use to develop something that works. Thanks in advance for your help,
  7. I'm trying to smoothly morph a square into triangle, in which the top corners slowly move towards each other, and meet in the middle. If you look at the Codepen, you'll see two rectangles turning into a triangle, one after the other, and in different ways. This was my process: I created the two SVGs in Illustrator. I created a 1-pixel stroke rectangle with a transparent fill, clicked Object > Expand, and then saved the SVG using "Save for Web and Devices". The triangle was created similarly, this time by adding an anchor point in the middle of the two top corners of a square, and then deleting the other two anchor points, expanding, and then saving. In the Codepen, you'll see I used the basic line TweenLite.to("#rectangle", 1, {morphSVG:"#triangle"}); to morph my two paths. Three questions, please: 1) What's the Illustrator workflow for making single-line SVG paths in Illustrator? Like what I'm trying for above, but maybe something with curves next time. 2) How about filled shapes? 3) Am I correct in thinking I'll need to play around shapeIndex to get the animation I want?

Hi, This issue has been bugging me for the past few hours, but I've managed to point it down to the new lines Illustrator adds to SVG files when there are a lot of points and the lines become too long. Maybe it's an option I've been overlooking and I can turn this behaviour off, anyhow these new lines Illustrator adds on points changes the start/ending positions on SVG paths. I've added a codepen, the SVG file gets injected on the place of the img tag with an modified version of SVG Injector (https://github.com/iconic/SVGInjector) I'm not sure if this is a GSAP problem or a bug in Chrome. But it might be worth looking into. Kind regards, Mark
